In the dining room, Tom Dixon's lamps with their distinctive design illuminate an imposing black wood and metal table by Emmemobili. Next to it, a work by Jeff Koons adds a lively splash of colour, while on the wall a bold work by artist Greg Mike completes the ambience.Interior Design: Marianna Fiorin Interiors. The preservation of the original layout
Once through the door, we notice how the design of the house perfectly reflects the duality of its owners' lives. On the one hand, the vibrant energy of the city and the hustle and bustle of work, on the other the need for a space that invites relaxation and contemplation. ‘The project, which began in 2019 and was only completed at the beginning of this year, required not only great creativity, but also considerable adaptability, especially when the pandemic imposed a temporary halt to the work, radically changing the layout of the spaces,’ Marianna explains. As required, the existing architecture was respected and enhanced in every detail. Large skylights, high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows allow light to flood the space, highlighting the carefully selected works of art. Reclaimed materials, such as black wood and recycled metals, also blend in perfect harmony thanks to the introduction of fine marble and light wood flooring. A contrast that gives the space an original personality.
A convivial space between art and music
‘The heart of the house is the space dedicated to conviviality’, an environment designed to welcome friends and family between art and music. Here, the kitchen, with its huge island in Calacatta Viola marble, is the ideal stage for cooking together with guests; while the dining room, dominated by an asymmetrical wood and metal table, becomes the place to share precious moments. The staircase leading to the roof is a celebration of colour, with each step painted in a different shade, at the base of which stands a work by Andy Warhol. In the living room, a large magenta-coloured sofa by B&B Italia stands out against a green carpet from Morocco, illuminated in turn by a cascade of Tom Dixon lamps descending from a five-metre-high ceiling. Also in this area, a patio, which communicates directly with the musician's recording studio, makes the house one with the outdoors, creating a continuity between indoor and outdoor.
